Jody & Tim | Maternity

Jody and Tim have been friends of mine for quite a while now, like almost a decade, and when they asked me to do maternity photos for them, of course I said yes! I met them both when we lived at this crazy apartment complex called San Tropez (also fondly remembered as “The Sleeze”). Jody and I were roommates for quite some time and I’ve had the pleasure of watching her and Tim’s relationship become stronger year after year. I’m in awe of the love they share, through good times and bad, and I’m so happy to have been able to be a part of so many memories they’ve made together…including their epic wedding a couple years ago!

This maternity session was so important for me to get right. It’s their first baby (a boy!) and I wanted to capture this milestone for them as perfectly as I could! Living in sunny Arizona, we never really have to worry about bad weather and I didn’t even check the weather for the week of their session. Then Jody texted me the morning of, worried about the reports for rain that day. I told her not to worry….and then about an hour and a half before their session it started raining….just dark, cloudy, down pouring rain really. I couldn’t see out my windshield on my drive home from work that day. But in Arizona, even when it rains, you can usually count on it stopping soon after….and luckily for us, it did! Someone was looking out for us, and the clouds parted and the sun started shining and this gorgeous maternity session is the beauty that came out of it!
